12-02-58 City Council Meeting2'30 REGULAR MEETING of the VILLAGE COUNCIL December 2, 1958 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota was held at 7830 Sixth Avenue North in said Village on December 2, 1958, at 9:00 o'clock P.M. The following members were present: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, and Teresi; and the following was absent: Scherer. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 9:15 o•clock P.M. Also present: Village Administrator, Roger K. Ulstad; Village Attorney, Stanley D. Kane; Deputy Clerk, Helen Penniman. Village Election: The Mayor called the Council to order as a Canvassing Board. The Commissioner of Registration presented the election returns for the Village Election held on Tuesday, December 2, 1958, as follows: VILLAGE ELECTION December 21 1958 REFERENDUM QUESTION YES NO YES NO District I 340 126 District IV 186 130 District II 200 163 District III 212 119 TOTAL VOTE. 938 538 VILLAGE TRUSTEE District I Cliff I. A. Teresi 324 District II to it 234 District III " it " 211 District IV " '* " 205 TOTAL VOTE 974 TOTAL VOTE- 996 REGISTERED VOTERS --- 6,918 TOTAL VOTE 1 1 Total Number Voted --- 1,481 MOVED by Bies seconded by Flannagan carried to certify the above election returns as submitted by the'Commissioner of Registration and to declare the candidates receiving the greatest number of votes elected to the offices indicated. Canvassing Board — December 2 1958 Special Bond Election: The Village Clerk presented the official returns of the Special Election held in and for the Village on December 2, 1958, as filed in his office by the Judges and Clerk's of the election for the Village, together with affidavits showing posting and publication of notice of said election, in accordance with the resolution adopted by the Council on October 21, 1958. Said -returns and affidavits were examined and found satisfactory and di— rected to be placed on file. Member Flannagan introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: "RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS OF SPECIAL ELECTION" The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Bies and, upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, and Teresi; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. M. The following members were present: Bies, Flannagan, Scherer, and Teresi, Nadasdy arrived at 8:55 o•clock P. M.; and the following was absent: None. Present were Village Clerk and Administrator, Roger K. Ulstad; Village Attorney, Stanley D. Kane; Village Treasurer, C. W. Bryan; Building In- spector, Dan Lynch; Village Engineer, Donald Sorensen; Deputy Clerk, Helen Penniman. Minutes of December 1, 1958; December 2,_1958: MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to approve the minutes of December 1, 1958; December 2, 1958. Sale of Village Bonds - Improvement Bonds of 1958, Sixth Series: The Acting Mayor announced that this was the time and place heretofore for the of sealed bids determined by motion on November 18, 1958, receipt for the purchase of $1,000,000 Improvement Bonds, Sixth Series, of the Village. The Administrator reported that three sealed bids had been received.
