11-29-60 Special MeetingSPECIAL MEETING of the VILLAGE COUNCIL November 29, 1960 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, was duly held at 7800 Golden Valley Road in said Village on Tuesday, November 29, 1960, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The following members were present: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer, and Teresi; and the following was absent: None. Present were Village Manager and Clerk, Roger K. Ulstad, Village Attorney, Stanley D. Kane; Village Engineer, Donald Sorensen. Awarding of Bid - Sanitary Sewer Laterals (60 -LF -12922,23,24,25,26 27.29 & 31): The Village Manager announced that pursuant to advertisement(s) for bids published in the official newspaper, the Village Manager and the Village Engineer had met in the Council Chambers at 7800 Golden Valley Road at 11:00 o'clock A.M. on November 28, 1960, and had then and there publicly opened and read the bids received. The Village Engineer tabulated the total of the contract cost under terms of said bids in accordance with the prices stated therein, and said bids were found to be as follows: Name -of -Bidder Total Net Bid Phelps -Drake Company $119,333.01 Peter Lametti Company $153,637.08 Barbarossa and Sons Company $159,220.00 Nodland Construction Company $160,924.30 Lametti and Sons $161,994.00 Petrowski & Ross $176,720.00 Art Bolier Construction Co. $186,666.00 Swanson Excavating Co. $200,079.00 The Village Engineer reported that the bid of Phelps -Drake Company was the low bid. Member Flannagan introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: "R.ESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR PROJECTS No. 60 -LF -12,17,22,23,24,25,26,27,29,30, and 31" Special Meeting of the Village Council, November 29, 1960 Page 2. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Teresi, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer, and Teresi; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor, and his signature attested by the Village Manager (Clerk). Awarding of Bid - 3/4 Ton Trucks With Materials Spreader: The Village Manager announced that pursuant to advertisement(s) for bids published in the official newspaper, the Village Manager and the Village Engineer had met in the Council Chambers at 7800 Golden Valley Road at 11:00 o'clock A.M. on November 28, 1960, and had then and there publicly opened and read the bids received. MOVED by Bies seconded by Flannagan carried to award the bid to Osseo Motor Company in the amount of $5,277.22 for two trunks, one with materials spreader, upon the recommendation of the Village Engineer. Ordinance Regarding Connection to Water System: MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Scherer carried to give a first reading to an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE CODE" (Connections to Water System) MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to approve the ordinance herein quoted by title on its first reading. MOVED by Teresi seconded by Bies carried to give a second reading to the above entitled ordinance on the grounds that a public urgency exists. Re: Deed for Service Road on Olson Highway: MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to authorize the proper Village officials to execute a quit claim deed to a 30 foot strip of land abutting the property of Armstrong & Schlichting along Olson Highway in order to correct the description of the Village service road.
