MINUTES
of the
BOARD OF REVIEW
July 7, 1964
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Village Council of the Village
of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, met as the Board of Review on
July 7, 1964, at :30 o'clock P.M. in the Village Civic Center, 7800 Golden
Valley Road.
The following members were present: Flannagan, Garis, Nadasdy, Schaphorst,
and Teresi; and the following were absent: None.
Present were Village Manager, Roger K. Ulstad; Village Attorney, Robert M.
Skare; Village Assessor, Robert Burns; Village Clerk, Helen Penniman. Also
present was Robert Martin, Assistant Supervisor of Assessments for Hennepin
County.
Mr. Maurice Goldman, 2324 Parkwood Road, owner of apartments at 5307 Circle
Down appeared to object to his personal property tax on stoves and refriger-
ators in the apartments. He stated depreciation had not been allowed.
Council requested Mr. Goldman to submit his invoices on said stoves and
refrigerators and the matter will be reviewed again on July 21, 1964.
Mr. Gust Berg, 1630 Lilac Drive North, protested his valuation and taxes
were too high, and stated that his taxes were up 218 points over last
year.
Council informed Mr. Berg that the matter would be checked and reviewed
again at the meeting on July 21, 1964.
The Village Manager read a letter dated July 6, 1964, from Glenwood Hills
Hospital requesting permission to appear for hearing on July 14th or
July 21, 1964.
MOVED by Schaphorst seconded by Flannagan carried to place the matter for
review at the meeting of July 21, 1964.
Mr. Alfred Brown, 9400 - 6th Avenue North, protested a proposed personal
property assessment on his tomato plants in the greenhouse located at
above address.
Council deferred action on the matter to the meeting of July 21, 1964.
MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Schaphorst carried to reconvene as a Board
of Review on July 21, 1964, to consider above matters and sign books.
