BOARD OF REVIEK
July 21, 1964
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Village Council of the
Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, reconvened as
the Board of Review on July 21, 1961, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. in the
Village Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road.
The following members were present: Flannagan, Garis, Schaphorst and
Teresi; and the following was absent: Nadasdy.
Present were Village Manager, Roger K. Ulstad; Village Attorney, Robert
M. Skare; Village Assessor, Robert Burns; Assistant Village Assessor,
Robert Pinkerton; Village Clerk, Helen Penniman; Hennepin County Super-
visor of Assessments, Wayne Johnson.
Mr. Maurice Goldman, 2321 Parkwood Road, owner of apartments at 5307 Circle
Down, did not appear. His secretary informed the Village Manager that Mr.
Goldman was out of town. Council took no action. Assessment will remain
unchanged.
Mr. Gust Berg, 1630 Lilac Drive North, stated he had been offered
$17,000.00 for his home and stated the valuation was too high on his
home. Council took no action.
Mr. Alfred Brown, 9100 - 6th Avenue North appeared to protest the valu-
ation on his tomato plants. Mr. Wayne Johnson presented a letter dated
July 20, 1964, from the State Deputy Tax Commissioner. Said letter was
read and ordered placed on file.
MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Garis carried to reduce the assessment
from $500.00 to $250.00 on Mr. Brown's tomato plants.
Mr. Robert VanHauer and Mr. Joseph Shefner, Attorney representing Glenwood
Hills Hospital, appeared to protest the assessment on the Glenwood Hills
Clinic Building.
The Village Attorney reviewed his written memorandum.
Mr. VanHauer requested that the record show that they object to the assess-
ment for 1964 on the basis that the property is tax exempt.
Council took no action.
MOVED by Flannagan seconded
by Schaphorst carried to
approve and sign the
books. Upon roll call vote
being taken thereon, the
members were recorded

The Acting Mayor announced that the motion carried.
MOVED by Schaphorst seconded by Garis carried to adjourn the meeting at
8:20 P.M.
