03-15-66 City Council Minutes3 REGULAR MEETING of the VILLAGE COUNCIL March 15, 1966 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was held at 7800 Golden Valley Road in said Village on March 15, 1966, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. The following members were present: Flannagan, Garis, Schaphorst, and Teresi; and the following was absent: Nadasdy. Present were Village Manager, Roger K. Ulstad; Village Attorney, Robert M. Skare; Village Engineer, Donald Sorensen; Village Clerk, Helen Penniman; Building Inspector, Dan Lynch; President of the Planning Commission, Paul Senstad. Invocation: Rev. Stanley D. Hanks, Golden Valley Methodist. Minutes of March 1, 1966: MOVED by Garis seconded by Flannagan carried to approve the minutes of March 1, 1966, as submitted to the Council. Planning Commission Awards: Acting Mayor Teresi presented a certificate for six years of service on the Planning Commission to the following: Robert Bromschwig Vern Discher Logan Straw Public Hearing - Plat, Merchant's Industrial Park: The Village Manager presented an affidavit of publication in the official newspaper of the Notice of Public Hearing as described in said affidavit. Said affidavit was examined, approved and ordered filed in the Clerk's office. The Acting Mayor announced that this was the time and place for the public hearing above referred to and all persons who desired to do so were afforded opportunity to express their views thereon. No persons presented objections except the following: OBJECTOR OBJECTION None None Mr. Jim Bury of Bury & Carlson asked what is going to happen to Laurel Avenue, and what size are the proposed lots. Mr. Paul Senstad, President of the Planning Commission, presented the recommendation of the Planning Commission to approve said plat. .(see minutes of 2-10-1966). Member Schaphorst introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: "RESOLUTION" (Acceptance of Plat - Merchants Industrial Park) The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Flannagan, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Flannagan, Garis, Schaphorst, and Teresi; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Village Clerk. See Resolutions book page �� <!5) Public Hearing - Zoning, 2400 Rhode Island Avenue North - Light Industrial: The Village Clerk presented an affidavit of publication in the official news- paper of the Notice of Public Hearing as described in said affidavit. Said affidavit was examined, approved and ordered filed in the Clerk's office. The Acting Mayor announced that this was the time and place for the public hearing above referred to and all persons who desired to do so were afforded opportunity to express their views thereon, and all written objections heretofore filed with the Clerk were presented and considered as follows: OBJECTOR OBJECTION None None PROPONENTS REASON Messrs. Peterson, Clark Proposed quiet type Light Industrial Shank and Tently use with park type grounds and landscaping. The Acting Mayor closed the public hearing. Said affidavit was examined, approved and ordered filed in the Clerk's office. The Acting Mayor announced that this was the time and place for the public hearing above referred to and all persons who desired to do so were afforded opportunity to express their views thereon, and all written objections heretofore filed with the Clerk were presented and considered as follows: OBJECTOR None PROPONENTS Messrs. Peterson, Clark, Shank and Tently OBJECTION None REASON Proposed a 12 bed rest home initially with expansion to 30 beds later, in a park type retreat area. Council questioned the legal status of the area to the south which is zoned residential. The proponents stated they would obtain a statement from the trustees of the property. The Acting Mayor closed the public hearing. Mr. Paul Senstad, President of the Planning Commission, presented the recom- mendation of the Planning Commission to approve said zoning. MOVED by Schaphorst seconded by Garis carried to approve the ordinance herein quoted by title on its first reading. Request for Building Permit - 6300 Olson Highway, Pako Corporation (Addition): The Building Inspector presented the plans and request for a building permit for Pako Corporation at 6300 Olson Highway for an addition. MOVED by Garis seconded by Schaphorst carried to approve the request for a building permit for Pako Corporation at 6300 Olson Highway for an addition, subject to the approval of the Building Inspector. 35� 36 Regular Meeting of the Village Council, March 15, 1966 Request for Building Permit - 7731 -6th Avenue North Dahlberg Electronics (Remodeling): The Building Inspector presented the plans and request for a building permit for Dahlberg Electronics at 7731 -6th Avenue North for remodeling. MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Garis carried to approve the request for a building permit for Dahlberg Electronics at 7731 -6th Avenue North for remodeling, subject to the approval of the Building Inspector. Request for Building Permit - 900 Mendelssohn Avenue North Standard Oil, Addition : The Building Inspector presented plans and request for a building permit for Standard Oil at 900 Mendelssohn Avenue North for an addition. MOVED by Garis seconded by Schaphorst carried to approve the request for a building permit for Standard Oil at 900 Mendelssohn Avenue North for an addition. subject to the approval of the Building Inspector. Resolution Approving Plans - Minnesota Project 022-1(35) Street Lightin T. H. & C.S.A.R. #1?.. The Village Manager presented the final plans and resolution for Minnesota Project 022-1(35) for Street Lighting on T.H. ##55 and C.S.A.R. ##18.
