VILLAGE COUNCIL
September 8, 1969
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, an adjourned meeting of the Village
Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was held
at 7800 Golden Valley Road in said Village on September 8, 1969, at 7:30
o'clock P.M.
The following members were present: Bies, Jensen, and Teresi; and the follow-
ing were absent: Garis, and Stockman.
Present were Village Manager, Barkley G. Omans; Finance Director, John Murphy.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M., by Mayor Teresi.
Award of Bids - S.A.P. 28-412-02; 69 -BS -9 & 69 -CG -5; 10th Avenue North:
The Village Manager recommended award of bids to the low bidder, Midwest Asphalt
Corporation in the amount of $39,916.50.
MOVED by Bies seconded by Jensen carried to award the bid for S.A.P. 28 -412 -02;
69 -BS -9 & 69 -CG -5 all on 10th Avenue North to the low bidder, Midwest Asphalt
Corporation in the amount of $39,916.50, upon recommendation of the Village
Manager.
Award of Bids - 69 -CG -13,16:
The Village Manager recommended award of bids to the low bidder, Cedar Concrete
Company in the amount of *7,063.00.
MOVED by Jensen seconded by Bies carried to award the bid for 69 -CG -13 & 16 to
the low bidder, Ceder Concrete Company in the amount of *7,063.00, upon recom-
mendation of the Village Manager.
The Council considered a bill which had been submitted for the annual dinner
meeting with the Planning Commission. The bill was referred to the Chairman
of the Planning Commission for disposition as an expense of the Planning
Commission.
The balance of the meeting was devoted to discussion of the 1970 budget.
It was the concensus of those present that an additional h20,000.00 should be
included in the general contingency fund. The Council asked the Village Manager
to set up a joint meeting with the Part, & Recreation Commission on September 22,
1969, at 7:30 P.M., to discuss Park program and utilization of Park personnel.
The meeting adjourned at 12:15 A.M., to September 15, 1969, at 7:30 P.M., at which
time the Council will meet with the Human Rights Commission.
