05-12-75 Special MeetingCONTINUATION OF REGULAR MEETING of the CITY COUNCIL (May 5, 1975) May 12, 1975 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a continuation of a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was held at 7800 Golden Valley Road in said City on May 12, 1975 at 7:30 P.M., in the Golden Room of the Civic Center. The following members were present: Anderson, Hoover, Riggs, Thorsen and Bix (Bix left the meeting at 7:50 p.m. to attend the Planning Commission Meeting and returned at 9:45 p.m.) Also present were City Manager Barkley G. Omans, and City Engineer Lowell Odland. William Crawford and Patrick Chandler of the Minnesota State Highway Depart- ment appeared regarding the clearing of the open ditch south of Glenwood Avenue and west of Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railroad. The flow in the ditch is restricted with silt and debris causing flooding on Highway 12. They requested permission to pile the ditch excavation on the site until it is dry at which time they will haul the material away for disposal. MOVED by Anderson, seconded by Thorsen and carried that the Council has no objection to temporary storage of the material from the ditch excavation provided the material would be removed prior to September 1, 1975 and to be removed sooner if possible. Member Bix voted no. The City Manager reported the following four quotes received on printing the summer bulletin: 0. H. Dahlen Printing (Copy & Insert) $1,762.15 Rapid Copy (Copy & Insert) 2,029.00 Post Publishing (Copy & Insert) 2,190.00 Graphics Divers. (Copy & Insert) 1,920.00 Upon recommendation of the City Manager it was MOVED by Anderson, seconded by Thorsen and carried to award at the low quote from 0. H. Dahlen Printing for $1,762.15. The Council proceeded with discussion of changes in the Transportation Plan that they will recommend to the Planning Commission. MOVED by Anderson, seconded by Hoover and carried to accept the plan for Duluth Avenue across the General Mills property as expressed and limited by the Planning Commission in their action on the item. The Council requested at least five copies of the amended Transportation Plan as worked on by the Council be available for the May 19, 1975 meeting.
