SPECIAL MEETING
of the
CITY COUNCIL
August 14, 1975
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Council
of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota was held at 7800
Golden Valley Road in said City on August 14, 1975 at 8:30 P.M.
The following members were present: Hoover, Bix, Swartz and Thorsen. Also
present were: City Manager Barkley G. Omans; Director of Administrative
Services John F. Murphy.
Discussion of Audit Comments - 1974 Audit:
The Director of Administrative Services presented Mr. J. Gregory Murphy,
partner in George M. Hansen Company, auditor for the City. Discussion
ensued regarding comments and suggestions made by the auditor following
completion of the 197.4 Audit.
MOVED by Swartz, seconded by Thorsen, carried, to take no further action
regarding Brookview inventory. Member Bix voted "No".
MOVED by Swartz, seconded by Thorsen, carried, to take no action on tempor-
ary financing.
MOVED by Thorsen, seconded by Swartz, to accept the auditor's recommendation
regarding license fees subject to advice of the City Attorney. Members
Thorsen and Swartz voted for the motion and Bix and Hoover voted against,
and the Mayor declared the motion lost.
MOVED by Swartz, seconded by Thorsen, carried, to place the above item on
the August 18, 1975 agenda.
MOVED by Bix, seconded by Thorsen, carried, to direct the Assessor's Office
to acquire and use prenumbered forms for special assessment prepayments.
MOVED by Bix, seconded by Swartz, carried, to instruct the Director of
Administrative Services to discuss with the auditor and prepare an outline of
proposed procedure for establishing a Fixed Assets Recor System and an esti-
mate of cost therefor and bring a report to the Counc" fok its consideration.
The Council adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
