02-23-76 City Council MinutesADJOURNED MEETING of the CITY COUNCIL February 23, 1976 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, an adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota was held at 7800 Golden Valley Road in said City on February 23, 1976 at 4:00 p.m. The following members were present: Anderson, Johnson, Hoover and Thorsen. Also present were Administrative Assistant Jeff Sweet, City Engineer Lowell E. Odland and City Clerk Mary H. Marske. Rosemary Thorsen — PlymouthHearingon Freeman Pr2per�: Councilmember Thorsen informed the Council that she had attended the public hearing regarding the approval of the plat for the Freeman property located in Plymouth. She reported the Plymouth council deferred action on approval of the plat because of significant differences from the original proposal in regard to soil conditions. Hennepin Countv Transportation Report: The Council discussed the matters concerning Golden Valley in the Transport- ation Report and requested the City Engineer and Councilmember Anderson to prepare a statement to be submitted at the meeting with the County to be held February 25, 1976. The Council also determined to hold a special workshop meeting on March 18, 1976 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss the St. Louis Park Resolution regarding I-394 and Page 25, of the Comprehensive Plan. Capital Lo_ nRane Improvement Committee Appointments: As agreed at a previous council meeting the councilmembers presented various names to be considered for appointment to the Capital Long -Range Improvements Committee. MOVED by Anderson, seconded by Thorsen and carried to appoint Ray Stockman to serve on the newly formed committee. MOVED by Thorsen, seconded by Anderson and carried to appoint G. Burton Brown to serve on the Capital Long -Range Improvements Committee. MOVED by Johnson, seconded by Anderson and carried to appoint Larry Smith to serve on the newly formed committee. MOVED by Anderson, seconded by Johnson and carried to appoint staff member John Murphy to serve on the committee as staff liaison. MOVED by Thorsen, seconded by Johnson and carried to request the Planning Commission to designate one of their members to serve on the committee as a voting member. MOVED by Anderson, seconded by Thorsen and carried to request the Planning Adjourned Meeting of the City Council, February 23, 1976 Commission to comment on the three proposed fire station sites to serve the Northeast quadrant in regard to zoning and/or other planning considera- tions to be presented to the Council by March 8, 1976.
