Place: Golden Valley Civic Center - Gold Room
Members Present: Mayor Hoover, Councilmembers Johnson, Anderson, Swartz,
Thorsen; also present: City Manager Barkley G. Omans
and Administrative Assistant Jeff Sweet.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hoover at 7:30 p.m.
Interviews with Potential Candidates for Valley Square Commission:
After completion of the interviewing, it was MOVED by Johnson, seconded by
Anderson, to appoint the following individuals to the Valley Square Commis-
sion:
Paul Gallick William Star
Dick Johnson Tom Boyce
Sherm Quisberg Dave Trach
Bob Levin Bob Loomis
Motion carried unanimously.
It was MOVED by Swartz, seconded by Thorsen, to contact the following
individuals to determine if they would be interested in serving on the
Valley Square Commission:
Artie Silverman Dean Van Horn
Sue Becker Mort Silverman
Pat Moberg
Motion carried unanimously.
Ethics Committee:
Council discussed potential appointees to the Ethics Committee
Northwest Human Services Council:
The Council set interviews of seven potential candidates for December 13,
1976 at 7:30 p.m., with fifteen minutes alloted for each individual.
Legislative , Breakfast:
Council discussed a proposed agenda for the Legislative Breakfast scheduled
for December 16, 1976.

1977 Wages. and Salaries:
City Manager reviewed his request for creation of the position of Assist-
ant City Manager. MOVED by Johnson, seconded by Anderson, carried, to
create the position of Assistant City Manager.
MOVED by Swartz, seconded by Johnson, to set the 1977 salary for the posi-
tion of Assistant City Manager at $16,515 except that this salary shall
not be eligible for the 1977 mid -year increase. Motion carried unanimously.
