ADJOURNED MEETING
OF THE
CITY COUNCIL February 9, 1978
An adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Golden Valley was held
in the Valley Room at 7:30 p.m., February 9, 1978 pursuant to notice given at
the February 6, 1978 Council Meeting.
The following members were present: Anderson, Hoover, Johnson, Stockman and
Thorsen. Also present were Assistant City Manager, Jeff Sweet.
Discussion on Professional Management Services of Mankato Contract:
The Mayor reviewed the changes suggested by the City Attorney.
MOVED by Johnson, seconded by Thorsen and carried to authorize the Mayor and
Manager to enter into the contract with Professional Management Services subject
to the changes in the contract recommended by the City Attorney.
Valley Square Report:
Bob Levin, Chairman of the Valley Square Commission, was present to review the
report.
Councilmember Stockman presented a set of goals and objectives with regard to the
Valley Square Report which the Council had previously requested.
MOVED by Johnson, seconded by Thorsen and carried to approve the goals and objectives
statements as amended.
Selection of a Manager:
Selection process of a new City Manager was discussed. No action was recommended
regarding the process until the formal interview with Jeff Sweet for the purpose
of the possibility of his appointment as City Manager.
Adjournment:
The Council adjourned this meeting until February 10, 1978 for the purpose of
interviewing Jeff Sweet at 4:45 p.m.
