09-22-81 Special MeetingSpecial Meeting of the City Council September 22, 1981 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota was held at 7800 Golden Valley Road in said City on September 22, 1981 at 6:30 PM. The following members were present: Anderson, Johnson, Stockman and Thorsen, and the following member was absent: Mitchell. Also present: City Manager, Jeff Sweet. Public Hearing - Budget The Mayor announced that the purpose of the meeting was to solicit input regarding the budget, including the proposed use of revenue sharing. The Mayor opened the meeting for public input and persons present to do so were afforded the opportunity to express their views thereon. Dave Thompson - 1319 Zealand Avenue North - He asked a number of questions regarding the budget and suggested that the budget document should include the City Council's approved Capital Improvements Program. Martha Micks - 90 Louisiana Avenue South - She was serving as a League of Women Voters observer. She provided information concerning the results of the recent budget survey as it related to complaints concerning animal control. The Mayor closed the public hearing. MOVED by Stockman, seconded by Johnson and motion carried unanimously to target animal control services into those areas where animal control was identified as a significant problem in the budget survey. MOVED by Anderson, seconded by Johnson and motion carried unanimously to add $2,400 to the Council budget and hire a Secretary for the Commissions. Adjournment MOVED by Johnson, seconded by Anderson and motion carried unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 PM. ATTEST: 56
