06-25-91 City Council MinutesRegular Meeting of the City Council June 25, 1991 40 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota was held at 7800 Golden Valley Road in said City on June 25, 1991 at 6:30 PM. The following members were present: Bakken, Johnson, Russell, Stockman and Thompson. Solicitor's License - MnCOACT William Joynes answered questions regarding the license. Larson, David W. Larson & Associates; dated May 30, 1991 withdrawing the application for rezoning submitted by U. S. MOVED by Stockman, seconded by Russell and motion carried unanimously to authorize staff to meet with the organizations effected by the proposed gambling ordinance and report back to the Council in July or August. Announcements of Meetings Mayor Bakken and Council Members Johnson and Thompson recently returned from the League of Minnesota Cities Annual Conference in Rochester and stated the meeting was worthwhile and successful. Council Member Thompson informed the Council that Mayor Bakken was elected as Vice President of the League. Council Member Russell informed the Council the Golden Valley Senior Center received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Metropolitan Council's Advisory Committee on Aging which was presented to Barbara Bailey by Mary Anderson, Chair on May 24, 1991.
