JWC Minutes 05-04-2022Joint Water Commission May 4, 2022 Page 1 of 2 JOINT WATER COMMISSION MINUTES Golden Valley - Crystal - New Hope Meeting of May 4, 2022 The Golden Valley - Crystal - New Hope Joint Water Commission (JWC) meeting was called to order at 1:30 pm. Roll Call Present Anne Norris, City Manager, Crystal Kirk McDonald, City Manager, New Hope Tim Cruikshank, City Manager, Golden Valley Staff Present Tim Hoyt, Police Chief, New Hope Joe Hansen, Utilities Superintendent, Golden Valley Dave Lemke, Operations Manager, New Hope Matt Rowedder, Utilities Maintenance Supervisor, New Hope Patrick Sele, Utilities Supervisor, Crystal Tim Kieffer, Public Works Director, Golden Valley Sue Virnig, Finance Director, Golden Valley Bernie Weber, Public Works Director, New Hope Derek Goddard, Water Distribution Specialist, Golden Valley Mark Ray, Director of Public Works/City Engineer, Crystal R.J. Kakach, Assistant City Engineer, Golden Valley Carrie Nelson, Engineering Assistant, City of Golden Valley Approval of Minutes— April 6, 2022 Moved by McDonald and seconded by Cruikshank to approve the minutes of the April 6, 2022 Joint WaterCommission (JWC) Meeting. Upon a roll call vote the following voted in favor: Norris, McDonald, and Cruikshank. The following voted against: None. Motion carried. Parts and Fittings for JWC Main and Service Connections Moved by McDonald and seconded by Norris to approve award going with Boys Water Products to obtain parts and fittings for emergency repairs on JWC mains. Upon a roll call vote the following voted in favor: Norris, McDonald, and Cruikshank. The following voted against: None. Motion carried. Joint Water Commission May 4, 2022 Page 2 of 2 Authorize Purchase of Rotork Valves for GV Pump_ House Moved by Cruikshank and seconded by McDonald to authorize Purchase of Valves at Golden Valley Pump House in the amount of $42,139.48 and up to $18,000 in associated costs to calibrate the new pumps. Upon a roll call vote the following voted in favor: Norris, McDonald, and Cruikshank. The following voted against: None. Motion carried. Award 24" St. Croix Valve Work Moved by Cruikshank and seconded by McDonald to approve project for the Joint Water Commission 24-Inch St. Croix Avenue Valve Project with Valley Rich Co., Inc. for the installation of a new valve on St. Croix Avenue in the amount of in the amount of $43,000. Upon a roll call vote the following voted in favor: Norris, McDonald, and Cruikshank. The followine voted against: None. Motion carried. TAC Update Staff provided an update from the April 28, 2022 TAC meeting. Other Business The next Joint Water Commission meeting is scheduled for June 1, 2022 Adjournment Moved by McDonald seconded by Cruikshank to adjourn meeting. Motion carried.
